Kudos partners with Muriel Gray to develop Scottish ideas and talent

11/06/2018

Resulting projects to be made in association with Muriel’s production company In Pin Productions

Kudos, the leading drama producer behind shows such as Broadchurch, Humans, Apple Tree Yard and Tin Star, has struck a partnership deal with Muriel Gray and her company In Pin Productions to find and develop top quality scripted projects from Scotland.

This exclusive partnership will see Muriel work closely with the Kudos creative team to seek out the best new Scottish writers, directors and concepts, as well as bringing top existing talent to the table. Resulting productions will be co-produced by the two companies and will be made in Scotland.

This announcement follows news earlier in the year that Manchester based Kudos North had struck a first look deal with Salford based actress and writer Maxine Peake, via her production company Vexed Pixie, to develop new television projects and the deal with Gray underlines Kudos’ commitment to working with diverse voices through partnership with brilliant creatives based outside London.

Martin Haines, COO at Kudos said; “I can’t think of anyone better placed to work with us in Scotland. Not only is she brilliantly connected within the Scottish arts, television and literary communities, but having founded one of Scotland’s most successful production companies and worked across the industry in many roles, she has a deep understanding of the television business. She is passionate about investing in Scottish talent and we are incredibly excited to be working with her”.

Muriel Gray said of the partnership: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be working with one the most admired, innovative and creative companies in the country. I was particularly impressed by Kudos’s enthusiasm to explore and support the wealth of talent in Scotland in such a genuinely collaborative manner. Their passion to develop projects that are truly authentic, offering alternative voices a national and international platform is something that really resonates with me. It’s the most fantastic opportunity.”

The deal was struck by COO Martin Haines and comes into immediate effect.
