It was announced today that Zeppotron, an Endemol company, has been commissioned by BBC One to produce an eighth series of its award winning series Would I Lie To You?

Hosted by Rob Brydon, the aim of the game is to fool the opposition into mistaking fact for fiction and fiction for fact. Each week team captains David Mitchell and Lee Mack are joined by a stellar cast of celebrity guests as they reveal amazing stories about themselves, some of which are true, and some of which are not.

A compilation episode will follow featuring all the best bits from the series, plus Would I Lie to You? will return at the end of the year for a Christmas special.

Peter Holmes, joint Managing Director at Zeppotron said "I would be lying if I said I wasn't delighted to be making another series of Would I Lie To You? I would be telling the truth if I said I gave this quote while buying a tea towel from Shepherd's Bush Poundland."

The series will be recorded at Pinewood Studios from February and will air later in the spring.

The Executive Producers are Peter Holmes, Ruth Phillips and Rachel Ablett. The Series Producer is Richard Cohen and the Executive Producer for the BBC is Pinki Chambers.
