Kate Stannard joins from Possessed TV to oversee development strategy for youth focused indie

Kate Stannard has joined Initial as Head of Development responsible for generating new ideas, managing a growing development slate and working with Co-Creative Directors Cat Lynch and Katy Manley to drive the company’s creative strategy and to win new business.

Building on the recently announced strategy to reimagine non-scripted formats for 16-34s, as well as focusing on quiz and gameshow formats, Kate will be charged with developing shows for a diverse range of broadcasters and platforms.

Previously Kate was Head of Entertainment at Possessed TV (part of ITV Studios) where she developed and produced shows including Cash Trapped, 5 Gold Rings, Pick Me and upcoming BBC One series Catchpoint.

She has held senior development positions at BBC North and Monkey Kingdom where she created entertainment, factual entertainment and reality shows for all major UK channels, including co-creating the award-winning quiz The Question Jury for Channel 4.

Katy Manley added; “Kate brings a huge amount of experience to the development team and I’m incredibly excited about what we can deliver as a team in 2019 and beyond.”

Initial’s current slate includes MTV’s aristocratic reality series The Royal World, Warwick Davis hosted quiz show Tenable for ITV and yearly charity fundraiser, Soccer Aid for UNICEF, also for ITV.
