BBC One’s Pointless secures bumper episode commission

17/08/2020

Remarkable TV, part of Banijay UK, have been commissioned to produce a further 227 episodes of hit BBC One series Pointless.

The bumper commission, which consists of three series (165 episodes) of Pointless and two series (62 episodes) of Pointless Celebrities follows a continued successful run for the shows which are presented by Alexander Armstrong and Richard Osman. To be in with a chance of winning, contestants must score as few points as possible by plumbing to the depths of their general knowledge to come up with the answers no-one else can think of.

Tamara Gilder, Creative Director for Remarkable TV, said:

“This mammoth commission is fantastic news and we’re really pleased that the BBC have asked us to make even more series of Pointless. Audiences continue to love the show and we can’t wait to get cracking on making more.”

Alex McLeod, Commissioning Editor BBC Daytime, added”

“I’m delighted to offer this bumper commission to loyal fans. More Pointless? What’s not to love?”

Pointless is a Remarkable TV production. Executive Producers for Remarkable are Tamara Gilder and Richard Hague. It was commissioned by Alex McLeod, Commissioning Editor BBC Daytime.
