Workerbee swerves to Quest motoring double

26/08/2020

Workerbee has scored a double commission for motoring shows from Discovery’s Quest.

The recent addition to the Banijay family is to produce Motor Pickers (12 x 30) and World’s Greatest Cars (6 x 60) for the male-skewing channel.

Presented by classic-car expert Paul Cowland and builder and restorer Helen Stanley, Motor Pickers will spotlight car buyers desperate to purchase the perfect used car within their budget.

World’s Greatest Cars will profile the best vehicles ever made. Also featuring Cowland and Stanley, alongside car experts Mike Brewer, Jimmy De Ville, Ant Anstead, Drew Pritchard, Marc Priestley, Karun Chandhok, Vicki Butler-Henderson and Rory Reid, each themed episode will feature a different type of car, outlining what makes these vehicles timeless.

Both series will be exec produced by Workerbee managing director Rick Murray and were commissioned by Simon Downing, Discovery’s senior vice-president, head of factual and sport, and Victoria Noble, vice-president of original content, factual at Discovery.

Rick Murray said “We’re delighted to be working with Quest again on two brand new car formats. To have the opportunity to work with the best motoring experts on the planet for World’s Greatest Cars was irresistible, and Motorpickers is a fast paced show with two of the best hosts in the business at the helm. Being commissioned to make these shows during a global pandemic was challenging, but thanks to a fantastic team we made it happen and are thrilled with the results.
